School Washroom Disinfection
Merchant Taylors’ School is a leading independent boys school, situated in Northwood, North London.
The Challenge
Simon Allard, the school’s assistant bursar wanted to reduce the risks of cross contamination at the school and rid the washrooms of bad smells and the frequent urinal blockages that had caused overflows and required costly maintenance.
The school prided itself on its excellent facilities and wanted to restore its washrooms cost effectively to create a more hygienic and welcoming environment.
The toilets, showers and changing areas were used extensively during term time.
The Solution
Albany provided a free consultation that included a hygiene and environmental survey. It highlighted that a deep clean was necessary to remove not only the visibly accumulated dirt and scale around urinals, toilets, basins, and floor/wall junctions but the hidden build up of uric scale in the urinal pipes and traps.
Albany revealed the issues to Simon on a site tour and undertook a specialist deep clean of one washroom to demonstrate the effectiveness of its service.
Merchant Taylors’ School was extremely pleased with the excellent results and commissioned Albany to undertake an extensive deep clean of all staff and pupils’ toilets and shower blocks during the school holidays.
The Result
Albany’s deep clean has removed the harmful bacteria that caused both bad smells and the incidences of urinal blockages.
An ongoing preventative maintenance programme of specialist deep cleaning is now being put in place and will continue to raise the hygiene standards of the school’s facilities and assist in minimising the risk of cross infection.
Consequently Merchant Taylors’ School will demonstrate its commitment to continuous improvement for the well being of its pupils, staff and visitors.
