Engaging Pupils
When you purchase a cost effective hand hygiene solution from Albany Healthy Schools, you will receive a FREE curriculum-linked hand hygiene education package for teaching hand washing in schools. This package includes a teacher’s guide, an assembly script, animation, lesson plans and quiz sheets.
Professor Albie, a fun animated character, will teach your pupils how to clean their hands in a fun and interactive way, helping them learn life-long skills. Albany will supply you with Professor Albie branded hygiene products which will be a great visual reminder about the importance of hand washing and drying for children, helping to reinforce the learning of good hand hygiene practice throughout the day.
Developed in collaboration with health and education professionals, Professor Albie teaches pupils about:
- Science – identifying germs and understanding how bacteria populate and viruses spread
- Personal hygiene – protecting them from unnecessary infection exposure and sickness
- Good health – relating good hygiene practices to good health
- Citizenship – appreciating their role in preventing cross infection to their peers
- Environment – protecting the environment through ecologically sustainable solutions
Albany has extensively piloted different hand hygiene training programmes for Early Years Foundation Stage and Keys Stages 1 & 2, by working with pioneering schools in both state primary and independent preparatory schools to test and evaluate them.
Bespoke programmes are also available for secondary pupils and higher & further education students.
