The Healthy Schools Programme (NHSP)
School washrooms are a breeding ground for germs and diseases.
Washrooms that appear to be clean are often contaminated with the bacteria that cause diarrhoea, vomiting, infection and even blood poisoning.
As a result, thousands of school days are lost every year through avoidable illness.
The national Healthy Schools Programme allows six million pupils in England and Wales to enjoy the benefits of attending a Healthy School. This hugely successful programme focuses on the health and well-being of individual pupils but does not encompass the critical area of infection control within the school building.
Schools require guidance on how to specify cost-effective, hygienic solutions into the design and maintenance of their building. They also require help to educate pupils on how to protect themselves and their fellow pupils.
That is why Albany Healthy Schools was created; to provide your school with a complete range of innovative products, services and solutions that will improve school hygiene standards and help improve the health and well-being of pupils, staff and teachers, reducing sickness, absenteeism, waste, carbon footprint and, ultimately, cost.
Through our partnerships and research with Max 4 Health, Bog Standard, The University of East London, Queen Mary, University of London and The British Institute of Cleaning Science, we have pioneered a new range of hygiene standards specifically for the education sector.
