About Us

Albany Hygiene Facilities is on a mission to raise hygiene standards and hygiene practices in schools and businesses throughout the UK. For the last 100 years Albany has been delivering best practice hygiene advice and solutions.

From hand washing awareness, hygiene education for children and health and hygiene in schools, through to in-depth hygiene audits and deep cleaning services, we provide a complete range of innovative products, services and solutions that help improve the health of the country.

A Scientific Approach

We work with both academic and industry partners to provide essential research and knowledge.

We work closely with the product design faculty at the UEL (University of East London) developing environmentally sustainable products.

For the last three years we have been working with Dr Ron Cutler, Deputy Director of Biomedical Science at Queen Mary, University of London, constantly testing and evaluating the most effective hygiene systems.

These relationships provide us with essential environmental, microbiological and product design expertise. This enables us to recommend the latest independent hygiene advice and deliver the most effective solutions to our customers, whether this is high level school sanitation and hygiene education or on-site hygiene practice in schools.

Knowledge Transfer

By the beginning of 2010 we will also employ a full-time bioscience post-graduate, mentored by Dr Ron Cutler, under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership initiative.

Working full-time for three years under this scheme, we gain scientific insight and hygiene advice on a daily basis and pass this on to schools and educational establishments via hygiene best practice and hygiene education for children.

As a result of this broader understanding of health and hygiene in schools, we launched a mission to raise awareness of the hidden dangers within Britain’s washrooms. View our short film about washroom hygiene and the lurking dangers.

Happy Customers, Happy Staff.

Every Albany employee is a partner, owning shares in the business. This allows everyone to benefit from our success. So the more happy customers we have, the more successful our partners become.

External Partners

As well as Universities, we have developed partnerships with leading industry bodies such as Bog Standard, BTA (British Toilet Association), CSSA (Cleaning and Support Services Association) and BICSc (British Institute of Cleaning Science).

We work closely with our external partners creating new initiatives and developing hygiene standards that support and enhance everything we do.
